Breakfast Menu under 400 Calories: Scrambled Egg and Toast

August 24th, 2007 · No Comments · Print This Post Print This Post

This is one of my favorite breakfast menus. It’s filling and tasty.

Ingredients Calories
1 egg scrambled 78
1/2 tsp. olive oil (for fry pan) 20
1 slice toasted Natural Oven Glorious Cinnamon Bread with Raisins
90
1/2 Tbsp. cream cheese, spread on toast 25
6-oz can pineapple-orange juice 100
1 nectarine 67
Total calories: 390

While I like fresh squeezed juice the best, it is more convenient for me to use canned fruit juice and occasionally treat myself to the fresh squeezed juice.

Natural Ovens Bakery Organic Plus BreadIf you are able to get Natural Oven Bakery bread in your area, be sure to try it. I’ve been eating it for years. Back in the 1980s when I lived in Northeastern Minnesota I used to have it sent by Greyhound Bus to me from Manitowoc, Wisconsin because I couldn’t get it in the area supermarkets. Natural Ovens has a nice selection of breads from which to choose. My other favorites are the English Muffin (90 calories per slice), Multi-Grain Bread (80 calories per slice), and Healthy Beginning - Better White Bread (120 calories per slice). The bread has no chemical preservatives. I keep it frozen and remove slices as I need them.
