I go through stages on the things I eat for breakfast. For a time, all I will want is fruit and cereal. Then I may crave scrambled eggs and Canadian bacon. Sometimes, nothing will do but cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast. I listen to my what my body is telling me. When I start craving one thing or another, I feel it is my body signaling a need for something. I try to accommodate. Cottage cheese is one breakfast option that is fast and filling with plenty of protein, and keeps hunger at bay for a long time.

Quiche isn’t as popular as it once was. I don’t remember when I last saw it on a restaurant menu.
To me, it is one of the most elegant fall lunch or brunch entrées you can prepare.

I don’t have time to eat breakfast.
That seems to be a mantra chanted by a lot of people these days. I’m going from the assumption that you actually want to eat breakfast. You can make time for breakfast in different ways.

When you’re in a hurry in the morning, cereal is always the old back-up. Not as comforting as a warm breakfast, but it’s still a tasty treat.

Evelyn’s Rhubarb Sauce Recipe

Evelyn’s Rhubarb Sauce is a great dessert, a favorite of Finnish-heritage people. Rhubarb, a perennial plant, is something a lot of people grow in their gardens in Minnesota, then freeze for use during the winter. It can be bought fresh in grocery stores during the growing season. I’ve noticed it for sale in Cub grocery stories in the frozen fruit department, packaged by SuperValu.
